Abbey Pond

Bike to Abbey Pond and back with a run to the pond and back sandwiched in between. Today my step brother would have turned 24 today. He always bragged about being 5 days older than me and thus much wiser. The time on the bike and my feet was a good way to think about those things.

I don't really ride much and it destroyed my legs as I had expected despite it being a mere 9.5 miles each way. The ride back was especially tough as the run toasted my legs.

I enjoy running at Abbey Pond, it has a good mix of smooth clean trails and gnarly rock gardens. Not to mention it has a 1k climb to get to the pond and multiple stream crossings. Some Middlebury College students stopped me to ask what I was training for and how I didn't die flying down the hills on the rocks.
